SDC uses a blend of classical hand-calculations and state-of-the-art finite element analysis techniques to solve technical problems. SDC analysts have experience using most industry standard analysis tools although projects are typically completed using IDEAS, HyperWorks, NASTRAN, and FEMAP.

Similarly, SDC has the ability to take any engineering problem from concept to manufacturing floor with our extensive design, drafting and manufacturing engineering capability. Using IDEAS and Pro-Engineer, SDC designers are able to create 3D models, assemblies and drawings for every project in the Space Structures and Optics area. All drawings are controlled through our ISO-compliant configuration management system and released to our shop or sub-contractors with electronic database to ensure direct design-to-manufacturing correlation.
