- Developed an out-of-autoclave processing method for high temperature polyimide composites called Double Bag Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (DBVARTM)
- Teamed with NASA and Boeing to develop a very unique double bag method which allows for the depletion of volatiles and provides pressure to allow for proper consolidation without the use of an autoclave
- Fabricated representative aircraft hardware utilizing the DBVARTM process
- Benefits of DBVARTM
- Reduces the capital and processing costs
- Allows for the fabrication of complex high temperature components with low void content
- Reduces tooling costs
