SDC moves to new facility San Diego Composites, Inc. moved into new facilities in Kearny Mesa, still only a short drive from San Diego's Lindbergh Field. Robert Kolozs and Lesa Johnston planned and coordinated the move, which went very smoothly and was virtually transparent to customers. The new facility enables SDC to bring together in one location its engineering, testing and fabrication activities. At 10,000 ft2, with an option for an additional 3,000 ft2, there is ample room for significant production. In addition, SDC is setting up specialized mechanical property testing capability to meet the needs of its customers with products operating in hot/wet, high temperature, high heating rate environments. Also key to future activities is a clean room that will be used for integration and assembly of space structures.
