San Diego Composites provides its customers with a full range of engineering capability to solve nearly any challenge in Missile Defense and Structures design and manufacturing. SDC uses a blend of classical hand-calculations and state-of-the-art finite element analysis techniques to solve technical problems. SDC analysts have experience using most industry standard analysis tools although projects are typically completed using IDEAS, Pro-E, HyperWorks, NASTRAN, and FEMAP.

SDC engineering approaches analysis and testing as extensions of one another. Testing is sometimes used to evaluate materials beyond what can be done using analysis, and in some cases the testing is used to verify models for a subset of all of the design requirements.

Similarly, SDC has the ability to take any engineering problem from concept to manufacturing floor with our extensive design, drafting and manufacturing engineering capability. Using IDEAS and Pro-Engineer, SDC designers are able to create 3D models, assemblies and drawings for every project in the Tactical Missiles and Substructures area. All drawings are controlled through our ISO-compliant configuration management system and released to our shop or sub-contractors with electronic databases to ensure direct design-to-manufacturing correlation.
